Bazaruto Lodge

Bazaruto Lodge is set on the largest islan in the Bazaruto Archipelago. The Archipelago is now part of a National Park. Bazaruto Island, a small piece of paradise, is 35 km in length and 7 km wide. The island is a place of rare beauty with wild life, turquoise waters and white sandy beaches.

Bazaruto Lodge's accommodation is in 40 bungalows with A-shaped thatched roofs. These are located amongst tropical gardens, offering wonderful beach viewss and the gardens. The bungalows can be divided into 28 'deluxe rooms', which are built right on the beach, and 12 'standard rooms', which are all set slightly further back, amongst the vegetation. Apart from their locations, all these rooms are the same.

The Resorts restaurant is right on the sea, where you can enjoy a cosmopolitan cuisine in a paradise-like setting with a stunning view over the Indian Ocean. Every night, meals are announced by the beat of an African drum.

Bazaruto Lodge has a very large thatched bar with a large swimming pool, as well as a practice-pool for those learning to dive. The Lodge also boasts a games parlor and a Business Centre, equipped with computers, laptop connections and Internet access. When the tide is at its lowest, the water immediately in front of the lodge retreats about 3km from the shoreline!
Down on the beach, there are plenty of comfortable spots for lounging in the sunshine atthe Resort, whilst you can also arrange a variety of water-sports at the nearby dive and activity centre. These include a free daily transfer to Dolphin Bay, one of the beaches on the east side of Bazaruto Island where you can take picnics and play in the waves. Other activities (at an additional cost) include snorkelling trips by boat, fishing, trips to nearby beaches, island-hopping, drives around the island, water-skiing, kayaking and other water sports.

The activity centre at Bazaruto Lodge is a NAUI diving centre – and so diving excursions and scuba-diving courses are available here. For those not keen on sea activities, there's a games room in the main lodge at Bazaruto with a pool table, table football and Ping-Pong. And there’s also a quiet library, with a computer with an internet connection, as well as a few books.
